Excerpt from the Comprehensive Guide on Payments to Students.

“Scholarship recipients are generally expected to enroll in at least 1 credit hour per term (including summer term). If the scholarship is intended for costs incurred in a specific term, the student must be enrolled in that term. The student’s enrollment must be equal to or greater than the enrollment required for the scholarship to disburse (“disbursement rule” set up on the SIS item type).” See “D” section on page 6 of the Comprehensive Guide on Payments to Students for more details.

Make sure you read the “C” section in the document, as the “Commom Attributes of Student Scholarships and Fellowships” explains the characteristics of the two.

The Student Payment Guidelines website will assist you on how to determine a payment type to ensure appropriate classification.
